Function of the Fire Extinguishing Panel

Intended Use of Automatic Fire Extinguishing Control Panels

It is necessary to determine the fire classes of the area to be used. The purpose of the extinguishing system is to protect areas containing critical equipment. Maintaining business processes and continuity are essential elements of fire safety. Automatic Fire Extinguishing Control Panel must comply with European standards EN12094-1, EN54-2 and EN54-4.

Operating Principle of Automatic Fire Extinguishing Control Panels

The automatic fire extinguishing is started from the control panel. In order for the extinguishing system to be active according to the scenario, the alarms received from the detection detectors in the area or the manual discharge button are activated.

There must be at least two detectors in the area to be protected by the extinguishing system. Cross zoning of two separate detector lines has to be performed. Sound and light warning devices have to be installed on the entry and exit doors of the place protected by the extinguishing system. If there is an existing central fire detection system, the extinguishing control panel should be integrated into the fire detection control system. The functions of the automatic fire extinguishing panel should be monitored from the fire detection panel.

Fire detection from a single detector from the detectors in the installed area is determined as a pre-alarm in case an alarm is received. The sound and light warning devices used are activated and operate in continuous mode. It is not desirable in these cases that the system's unnecessary extinguishing system is active with the receipt of the pre-alarm. In the case that the fire detection alarm is received from the second detector used as the cross validation zone, the delay time shall start and the automatic fire extinguishing system shall be activated.

Automatic fire extinguishing systems can be activated by manual discharge button. The buttons that stop the extinguishing system are also used. If the extinguishing system is activated, it cannot be done with the stop button. The stop buttons are used to delay or cancel the extinguishing system.
