How Should Smoke Alarms Be Placed in Houses?

The fire alarm system is critical for all buildings and facilities. It must operate 24/7 and be functional when required.

Well, do houses differ from other buildings in terms of fire risk?

When we look at the death rates as a result of fire, it seems that most of them are in house fires, almost all of these fires occur at night and the deaths occur due to smoke poisoning.

The fact that houses are different from other buildings as function points to the use of Smoke Alarm Devices designed only for houses.

What is a Smoke Alarm?

They are the devices that are capable of self-operating, regulated according to EN-14604 certification for houses only, and that can give alarm with their internal siren without the need for a fire alarm panel.

Two questions will come to the minds of the residents.

Will my fire alarm system be able to wake me up in the event of a fire?

As a general impression, while comprehensive detector placement is made in houses, the sound level calculations are unfortunately not made in detail. The presence of an internal siren with at least 85 sound levels on each of the Smoke Alarm Devices is sufficient to ensure the required sound levels in the standards. The alarm detector's ability to trigger the other detectors in the apartment simultaneously allows the residents in the other rooms to wake up. It helps to get an early reaction to evacuate the building. Research shows that the time to leave the building is about 4 minutes.

Is my fire alarm system really working?

Most of the time, we are not aware of the emergency devices in our environments, even if we are aware of them, we may not be able to control how they work. The Smoke Alarm Devices have the capability for us to test the operation of the system and to silence it when a false alarm is received. We can perform these functions with the buttons on the detector or we can do it from the remote control equipment installed anywhere in the apartment.

At the end of the integration with the fire alarm system that protects the entire high-rise building (core), the entire building will be protected. It is an important advantage that an error or failure to occur in the common areas of the building affects the system in the apartment, and that the failure or error in the apartment affects the rest of the building.
