Places of Use of Panoramic Cameras

We can classify the security cameras according to their viewpoints. Cameras with an angle less than approximately 60 degrees are called Telephoto Camera, cameras with 60 degrees are called Normal Camera, cameras with 60-100 degrees are called Wide Angle Camera and cameras with an angle wider than 100 degrees are called Panoramic Camera or Fisheye Camera.

Panoramic Camera usage rates are increasing rapidly throughout the world. This is because instead of using a large number of cameras, 1 Panoramic Camera offers the opportunity to view the entire zone without leaving a blind spot. In addition, although a single camera is used, the important points on the screen can be viewed as an independent camera with digital zoom.

Panoramic Cameras According to Usage Areas

A Panoramic Camera placed in the middle of a shopping mall allows monitoring of all activities in an area in the radius of 20-40 meters.

In a bus, 1 Fisheye camera can control the entire area.

While the entire platform can be monitored with a single camera in a metro station, sensitive points can be monitored in more detail by zooming more.

It can be used in office environments.

Garage can be used in all areas where solutions can be provided with multiple cameras in door fronts, junctions, building entrances or along fences.

Pros and Cons of Panoramic Cameras

There is an issue to be considered when using a Panoramic / Fisheye Camera. While these cameras can perform many functions properly such as Activity Monitoring, Alarm Tracking with Video Analysis, etc., they have difficulty in identification. Since the image is slightly tilted and the number of pixels per square meter is low, identification cannot be made with such cameras. In the projects where such cameras are used, the addition of cameras with the resolution that can record descriptions and license plates to the trap points (entry-exit points, turnstiles, narrow corridors, etc.) allows the creation of an accurate and economical design. In addition, Multisensor cameras, where a large number of high-resolution cameras are combined in a single body, can be considered as a good solution.
