Security in Airports

Airports are at the forefront of high-security facilities across the country. Recently, increasing terrorist incidents have also increased the rates of risk.

Security policies at airports are established according to the local legislation prepared as a result of the previous experiences and risk analysis by taking into account the international rules. The security of the facility continues by narrowing down starting from the environment to enclose all buildings separately.

The emergency plans prepared separately for each airport are developed by the Airport Security Committee. The activities managed by the Security Management Center are aimed at ensuring airport security properly.

At the entry points to the terminals, X-Ray and Metal detectors, which are used for security scanning of people and properties, are of great importance. Entry into-exit from sensitive points such as control tower, energy centers, fuel tanks, control and communication rooms are controlled. In addition, it is of great importance to control the crossings between the areas defined as Air-Side (areas directly involved in the aircraft activities) and Land-Side (areas not directly involved in the aircraft activities). For this purpose, electronic access control systems including biometric readers, card readers and card+pin readers are used. Security (intrusion) equipment is also installed in order to prevent unauthorized access.

These images are used for incident detection at airports that are recorded  24/7 with cameras. Also, during 24/7 monitoring, the chance of intervening in risky situations in advance increases with the use of video analysis features.
