Smart Key and Valuable Asset Management Solutions

Even today, when modern card access systems are widely used, many enterprises continue to use conventional key systems. In these enterprises, the storage and tracking of conventional keys is a problem that requires overtime and reduces employee efficiency. In addition, in the storage and tracking of these keys, many problems may occur due to human error, such as inability to keep accurate records, inability to inspect the records correctly and inability to access the desired keys in case of emergency. At the same time, there may be such problems for portable equipment such as radios, laptops and ipads that are in common use in the enterprises.

Why Should I Use Smart Key Management Systems?

The main purpose of key management systems is to ensure the timely return of the received key or equipment by assuming responsibility for the users by securely keeping the keys. With the smart key and valuable asset management solutions specially created for different sectors, it is possible to minimize the damage caused by negligence, theft and personal damage.

With the smart key and valuable asset management, all kinds of keys are converted into “smart keys” in order to determine the access rights of the doors and to monitor and record the usage details of the vehicles and valuable assets. Personnel are allowed to open the key locker by entering the card, fingerprint or password used in the card access system and to obtain only the keys with which they have access authorization instead of all keys. If necessary, the personnel can be given the obligation to return the key within a specified time. It shall be possible to report the time of receipt of the key, the information of the field personnel and the time of retrieval with a computer connected to the network, which can be automatically recorded by the system. In this way, the personnel receiving the key will take more care not to lose the key and return it on time by being aware of his/her responsibility.

Integration with Access Control Systems

There are key management systems that can provide full integration with the access control systems in the enterprise. The users can access physical keys with existing card access cards and various scenarios can be created between the key management system and card access control. For example, in an integrated system, any user can be prevented from going outside the business boundaries without returning the key to the locker, thus preventing the keys or valuable assets from being taken out of the enterprise.
