Video Content Analysis Systems (VCA: Video Content Analysis)

Due to the high increase in terrorist attacks and public order incidents within the recent period, the pre-incident automatic notification systems have become very important instead of post-incident examination.

Automatic Detection of Hazard

There are millions of cameras everywhere today. How can this be automatically detected if there is an abnormality in the camera images or if there is a potentially dangerous behavior?

Almost all of the millions of cameras are used only to examine how the incident occurs in the post-incident period. Thousands of people are viewing these cameras at many facilities. But after a while, operators suffer from operation blindness and they view the cameras inattentively. The VCA reduces the burden on these officials.

Video Content Analyses

With the VCA, camera images are subjected to the following analyses and alert the operators if any pre-incident is detected:

  • Violation of crossing the line
  • Field violation
  • Object classification: Distinguishing between human, vehicle and animal
  • Lag alarm: Detecting the objects that remain in a specific area for longer than the allowed time
  • Human Alarms: Having more people than the number or proportion allowed in a specific area
  • Movement in a specific direction
  • Appearance and disappearance
  • Color and Speed alarms
  • Object moving too fast
  • Queue formation
  • Wait too long in the queue
  • Counting the people in the queue
  • Counting the people in the ZONE
  • Not wearing a helmet
  • Finding missing children
  • Magnitude

The VCA can be used especially in airports, metro stations, bus stops, tunnels, walkways closed to traffic, shopping malls, residences, industrial facilities and everywhere where there are security cameras.

The function of the VCA is to detect the incidents before they occur and to establish an early alert system. It can also work retrospectively after the incident has taken place. It can scan and report the phases of the incident simultaneously on thousands of cameras and easily detect how the incidents start and end.

The VCA can detect a wide range of incidents related to people, vehicles and static objects. It analyzes video from multiple sources in parallel and can allow complex detection scenarios connecting detection rules from different cameras. These alarms can be associated with each other and can also be detected as a new alarm when there is an alarm in a specific order.

Today, new technologies in the field of Video Content Analysis (VCA) are increasingly focusing on their ability to interpret and predict movements. Advanced algorithms in this direction enrich the sector day by day.
