As EEC is a well-known brand and one of the leading companies in the sector, we had no hesitation when we started to cooperate. We knew that EEC was involved in the majority of the major and most important projects. You know there are different brands, but when you look at EEC, it gives us the confidence to cooperate with one of the leading companies in fire detection systems, so it was very easy for us to make a decision.
I previously worked with EEC for some three years in the International Hospital project. We have been working together again in the Sapphire Residence project for the last 11 months.
The fire detection system here is operating properly and we conduct regular maintenance works. Even if we have some simple problems, they are solved in a short time, and we can get the service within the period that we want.
The detectors in our building are very efficient in terms of detection. We receive data quickly. The system operates in two structures in this building as a shopping center and residence. Of course, we have some problems because of this. We can get data from the shopping center as a map. We sometimes face difficulties because the data is transmitted to our panel only as an address. We are currently working to fix this. In fact, we think that we can solve our problem by obtaining support from EEC.
As I have mentioned, our detectors are good in terms of detection. When I was previously working at a completely different project, the detectors broke down even due to simple dust although they were new detectors. It is not like that here. The system was installed some 11 years ago, we have 11-year-old detectors and they detect very well, their accuracy is very good. Detection accuracy is the most important point for us and it gives early warning. This is top priority for us.
Also when we look at the benefits, this product has brand reliability and we trust the system so much. Of course, we also place great importance on visual control. Our extinguishing systems are also very good. We have water extinguishing systems. In case of necessity, we also use portable extinguishing in the form of fire extinguisher tubes, with the intervention of our staff, but before that, we need to have a very good detection system to ensure detection. This is the most important benefit for us. Secondly, we experience almost no breakdowns in this system. The lower number of breakdowns is the second benefit. Only detector breakdowns occur. These are generally caused by external factors such as oxidation of the detector with the penetration of water from the upper floor. A detector, which was installed in the most remote place in the basement floor 10 years ago, may break down due to moisture. Apart from these, we do not have any problems with the detectors used by us on normal floors. The third benefit is that it gives us confidence.
EEC installed not only the fire detection system but also the entire infrastructure within this building years ago, including our camera systems, card access systems and public address systems. We have been using the same camera system for some 11 years and it is still operating, but it is out of date, now it is time to change it. Everybody uses IP cameras, but we still go on with analogue cameras. We are planning to integrate your cameras with our fire system. This will make our job easier.
We also test the announcement system installed by EEC from time to time. As I have said, you are the one that has installed the systems in this building, so far we have been operating our processes without any problems.
We do not use the emergency announcement system so much, and we hope it will not be necessary. We can also use our emergency announcement system for public addresses. In the emergency announcement system, when the situation comes to a point where it is impossible for us to make an intervention, the scenario is automatically activated. An evacuation announcement is made in Turkish and English. We also actively use it for music broadcast on our social floors such as the lounge floor, sports floor and golf floor.
In terms of services, when we are given a deadline, the materials reach us within such a deadline. After we make the application, your teams execute the commissioning process quickly, and we do not have any problems in this matter.
We maintain good communication with your sales teams, and our relationship is excellent, they are very sincere.
As we are able to reach your managers directly, they always help us when we have a problem. There is ease of access, they direct the teams and we solve the problems in a short time.
We are also satisfied with your Technical Services. During the maintenance, it was found that there are problems with some detectors. The process was managed quickly, and the new detectors were commissioned smoothly. We quickly restored the system to normal.
Fire detection system is extremely important for Sapphire as a residence and one of the tallest buildings in Turkey. This is a vertical building. Although it has four evacuation stairs, I think that it is difficult to ensure evacuation in this building. Even if 10 stairs were built here, we have to detect and eliminate fire in a very short time. This is a building that needs very early response to fire. As you know, when the scenario is activated, the elevators will not operate, and there is an evacuation process from the 52nd floor to the ground floor. I hope this building will never face such a situation. We will not be here forever, but this building will always be here and such a risk exists. Obviously, it is a difficult building to evacuate because it is a vertical building. Fire detection system is very important for us, therefore; we care about the maintenance agreements, even if we have a tight budget for this.
The existence of the system gives us confidence. We have witnessed many cases, and I think there was an incident in a residence in England last year. If the measures had been properly taken, it could have been resolved before the incident escalated and so many lives were lost. Loss of life is the most important subject. Items can be replaced somehow, but "nobody should sustain harm’’. Let's take our measures. I hope such incidents will never happen in any building around the world, but these systems should exist. We consider this very important.
