We Talked About EEC with the Electricity Officer of Koç University Hospital

We did not work with EEC previously, but we eliminated our doubts during scenario tests.

I have heard about EEC previously. ARK Construction, which built the Koç University Hospital and delivered it to us, asked us to share the suggestions and opinions of our enterprise during the purchasing phase of the fire detection system, but we did not work with EEC previously. We worked on this project for the first time. We made the commissioning and provisional acceptance of the system before going into operation. We became acquainted with EEC in this process, and we tested the system and made it ready for operation together.

We had certain concerns when we received the system. As we did not work with EEC previously, we had questions about the installation of the infrastructure of the fire detection system. Will the scenario work properly when an alarm is triggered? When the scenario is activated, will all the elements of the scenario work according to the scenario? Following intense efforts, we completed our scenario tests with EEC in approximately one year. We tested each zone, one by one, from floor -3 to floor 9. As the hospital was operating, we started to do our tests after 12:00 am. We worked the test result reports and analyzed which system worked and which system did not work, and we worked on the systems that did not work, and restarted the tests. We did not work with EEC previously, but during these tests, we took the opportunity to get to know EEC and the system and to learn about the system. We eliminated our doubts during the tests. We continuously pushed the system and conducted tests. We activated the scenario many times and tested the system in this way.

The most useful property for us is the ability to view the room or area, where an alarm has been triggered, through the Fireworks.

Following the active operation of the system, the most useful property for us is the ability to view the room or area, where an alarm has been triggered, through the Fireworks. We have a large hospital. The Fireworks sends us alerts on a block, floor, room or location basis. When our staff views the area of alarm, they notify the patrols by phone, describing the area “you will go to this point in this location and enter through that door”, which is a system that prevents loss of time. I think this is the most important advantage of our system. It is possible to view the alarm on the panel, but it also sends an alert on location based on the Fireworks. For example, the ability to view the location of the alarm on the screen such as “Alarm has been triggered in Operating Room 1” provides us with a great advantage in terms of quick response and loss of time.

Our relationship with EEC continues through our maintenance contract. The system is installed and operating, but the continuity of the system is also important. Hospitals are the areas of continuous revisions; new sections are opened, and new revision areas are created. We are working with EEC excellently regarding the expansion of the system. EEC is very flexible with expansions. We also discuss these matters when we renew our maintenance contract every year. We get along well with EEC and do not have any problems with them in the adaptation of these innovations and changes into the system. The system is open for expansions. Let's say we have made a revision on a particular floor and changed its architecture. EEC comes and introduces the new architecture to the Fireworks in half an hour. This is also very important because, as soon as a new section is opened, that section is a risk area for us. The sooner we can identify this section into the system, the more advantageous it becomes for us. We enjoy the benefits offered by EEC and the system.

We strongly recommend EEC and give a reference about it.

We strongly recommend EEC. Everyone in the medical sector knows each other. When our colleagues at other hospitals ask us: “We want to install a fire system, which system do you use, are you satisfied with the system you use?”, we recommend EEC and give a reference about it. As we are satisfied, we also tell our colleagues about our satisfaction.

We mark the fifth anniversary of our cooperation with EEC. We have not had any problems with our system so far. Hospitals are very risky areas for fire because they are the places where thousands of people enter and leave every day. Also, many systems are continuously operating in hospitals. The fire detection system receives alarms every day. The system is under continuous surveillance. We continue to cooperate with EEC without having any problems.

The panels operate properly even in case of excessive data traffic.

We are highly satisfied with the performance of our fire detection panels. Sometimes we receive multiple alarms at the same time. I saw panels that lock up in these cases. We are also conducting tests for them. We trigger an alarm from 4 - 5 points, activate the scenario at the same time and measure the response time of the panels. The panels operate properly even in case of excessive data traffic, and do not cause us any problems. We do not have any problem on this matter.

I think that the price/quality performance of EEC is in line with the market conditions. Our system is installed and operating, but we have maintenance costs. We supply materials for the areas where we apply revisions. When we compare your prices with the market prices, we conclude that the prices are more or less the same.

Our periodic maintenance is also completed in less and less time. When we first installed the system, our maintenance lasted approximately one year. The maintenance is going faster this year. We have reduced the duration of maintenance, which took 1 month last year, to 10-15 days now. As the maintenance team gets to know our facility better, they learn about our field staff and maintenance points better and complete the maintenance works more quickly.
