Danone produces dairy products 365 days a year with more than 300 employees at its Factory in Kırklareli, which was purchased in 1998 and covers a closed space of 27,000 m2. In addition, the company has invested more than 450 million Turkish Liras into expanding the facility and increasing its production capacity, and has put into operation its facility for producing medical nutrition products used in the treatment of malnutrition in 2023.
EEC Entegre Bina Kontrol Sistemleri has provided the installation services for Edwards Fire Detection and Alarm System and Securiton ASD High Sensitivity Aspirating Smoke Detection System for the Danone Factory. The conversion of the different camera systems that are installed in the factory to the Dahua System in a single center is an ongoing effort.
EEC has completed the engineering, material procurement and commissioning services for the systems. In line with the changing needs, new adjustments and renovations take place frequently at the facility, which is constantly and gradually expanding.
In consideration of the different needs and risks arising from hot and cold environments in the production departments of Danone rendering services to the food industry, many different types of detectors were used in the Fire Detection System. As a precaution against environmental risks in the roof space, beam-type devices capable of detecting particles of varying sizes with UV and IR rays and separate dust from smoke in the environment, hence providing a more accurate detection, have been used. In accordance with the requirements of the constantly expanding facility, cable type detectors are added to the system, in which heat detectors are preferred in areas with heavy steam. Smoke detector, heat detector, combined detector, beam detector, gas detector, fire alarm button, 3 main panels, repeat panel and Fireworks graphic monitoring software have been installed as part of the system.
The High Sensitivity Aspirating Smoke Detection System was installed in order to address the problems of detection and maintenance in high-ceiling environments and roof spaces. The ASD provides an advantage in hard to access areas where classical detection cannot achieve the desired efficiency, and it is capable of high sensitivity detection thanks to its powerful and silent fan. According to the unique design and production processes of the facility, a solution was provided with the aspirating detection method at 3 points where sensitive detection is required.
Additionally, the fire detection system has been integrated with the existing card entry system in the factory and its scenarios have been reinforced. In line with the evolving needs of the facility, additions are constantly being made to the fire detection system, and the necessary infrastructure works for the planned panel additions are expected and being completed gradually.
All panels and addressable field elements that make up the system are monitored through the FireWorks Graphic Monitoring software. Easy and quick to understand monitoring is provided thanks to the software’s reports visualized with dynamic objects. The software delivers alarm and fault messages to operators in order of priority, and it is capable of automatically showing the location of the detector on the factory plans, thus accelerating the preliminary investigation time required for intervention in the incident. The contamination level of all addressable devices can be reported through the FireWorks software, and thus maintenance needs can be monitored throughout the system and maintenance periods can be decided. The Fireworks software, which was installed in Danone’s system management center, is constantly monitored by the management center team.
The flow switches and valves in the existing fire extinguishing system at the factory are integrated with the fire detection system and monitored. Moreover, within the scope of the goal of providing thorough protection in the entire facility, monitoring all of the extinguishing devices in the factory will be included in this integration.
Works have begun to convert various camera systems in the factory to the Dahua system using existing cameras and monitor them from a single center. Following the completion of the necessary cable infrastructure work, switches will be replaced, recording devices will be replaced and central management software will be installed. When the CCTV Software is added and the project is completed, the entire system will be monitored and controlled from a single point. Furthermore, thanks to the capabilities of the software, it will be possible to integrate the most advanced technologies such as automatic number plate recognition, smart analysis, thermal cameras, artificial intelligence and integration with other systems to the system.
